I really felt I was getting somewhere with the gold/pink/grey combination of colours in the sunset sky for this one. There's a palpable sense of warm light which was what I was striving for. The land area is pure mark-making with cloth, cotton buds and a BBQ stick rather than my more usual printed patterns. It was exciting to move away from the textures for a while and use some softer marks.
 
I used rollers and dabbers to spread out the ink then made marks with a cloth and other tools. I built up layers of over-lapping colous by printing several times. I also used paper stencils to make the crisp edges.
